The Auto Angels Car Show

Today I took the three kiddos to the Auto Angels Car Show at our church. Auto Angels is a great ministry that our church has and their mission is to "meet the transportation needs of our church community," which basically means that they fix cars for free. The highlight of the year is when they do a Car Show on Fathers' Day weekend. Even though Greg is out of town this weekend, we just had to go!!

The show had tons of great sportscars, old-fashioned cars, and beautiful classics. Drew and Hailey loved it. The highlight of the day was when this nice man showing his Porsche let both A&H SIT IN THE CAR! Wow - that was a big deal! Drew went nuts using the steering wheel, etc. What fun! Thanks to the kind man who wasn't scared by twin toddlers! We also watched a guy buffing his shiny red Corvette, and I think the kids were mesmerized by that. Oh, I think we are going to have to start a bank account for the first car when they hit 16!

Andrew himself was a highlight of the event, since he impressed all of these retired men with his knowledge of cars. We walked through a whole section, while Drew rattled off the name of each car, and these older gentlemen had their jaws on the ground in disbelief! So funny!

Also, the Car Show has a fun BBQ lunch, and so we waited in line to get burgers. The wives of the Auto Angels end up putting on the meal, and they had decorated these tables in such a cute way... see the centerpiece picture below. We ate at a table with several grandmas, and they went on and on about how well mannered and precious our kids are. One woman said, "they are the best behaved kids I have ever seen!" Wow - that made this mama happy!
