Well, we just survived a week of fabulous snow here in Bellevue! School was closed for three days, and we were homebound for most of that time. I spent a lot of time doing crafts with the girls, plus baking, playing games, and more. It was a nice relaxing time... and we even got in some sledding. Good thing Santa brought those snow boots!
The first morning with snow.... we made snowman pancakes! The world would be a better place if we all wore BACON scarves!
Day 1: Homemade English muffins. Yum!
Day 2: Homemade Naan bread... I was Hailey's helper..
Naan. Yummy with tzatiki sauce...
A good craft activity: Painting Chalkboard paint onto glass vases. We did have to make an emergency run to Home Depot for our paint supplies!
We painted three coats of the chalkboard paint onto the vases...
And then we used our chalkboard pens to write out erasable messages on the vases!
Mommy actually purchased Fruit Loops! But we had to use them in this craft... not in our breakfast bowls! Bummer!
Our best craft of the week: Popsicle stick puzzles! Glue a picture to popsicle sticks and then cut with an exacto knife. Kids loved it.
Using the new sleds and snow boots!
Of course, the best indoor activity of all is dressing up as a princess! Greta wears this Tinkerbell dress 24/7!
We had a fabulous Christmas week with Greg's whole family in Bellevue with us. We enjoyed lots of great meals and activities! Greg's sister Julie and daughter Raleigh joined us from Denver. His other sister Christy and new hubby Adam joined us from New Jersey. His mom came from Vancouver, BC, and then Robbie and Jenene (who live in Seattle) joined us all week, too.
We played lots of games, spent a day in the snow at Snoqualmie Summit, visited the Experience Music Project, went on a hike, visited the light show at the Bellevue Gardens, and played with all of our Xmas gifts!
Our extended family on the Lang side!
Jackie, Christy, Julie, and Jenene
Andrew, Greg, Adam (who just officially joined the family in August), and Robbie

New purple sweats!
Greta gets a stuffed unicorn from Santa.... just what she asked for!
Greta plays with cousin Raleigh
Hailey loves the new princess characters Santa gave her...
Family pictionary, anyone?
Year #2 of making a birthday cake for Jesus. Hailey was in charge!
More sprinkles, Daddy!
Hailey colors with her Aunt Christy and Aunt Jenene. She loves being spoiled by them!
Yum!
Greg led us in Christmas carols, while the girls twirled in princess dresses...
Sporting our new pajamas from Aunt Christy and Uncle Adam! We love 'em!
As you might guess, we have a lot of obsessions around here. Here are a few:
Andrew = CARS. Here he is with his collection of cars, where he has "lined them up for the ferry." He can play cars ALL day, EVERY day.
Hailey and Greta: Baby Dolls and Stuffed Animals (called 'stuffies')
The girls love to put all of the baby dolls and stuffies to sleep. This is what I found them doing today - putting every one under a blanket and putting them to sleep. They do this every day! There is a funny video at the bottom showing the details from today's activity.
The girls also are very into princess stuff... which is good because Santa brought a lot of princess garb! Greta showed up to breakfast this am with her tiara, her high heels, and her magic wand (which makes a magic wand sound!)
Come on over and join the fun!
Here is a video of Greta's room this morning, where there were a million baby dolls and stuffies put to bed...
