Baby gets a bath...

Today we decided to give a bath to little Greta. She had this faint odor of "perfume de sour milk" that we thought we should try to eradicate! Hailey was the good big sister and washed her hair, while Drew watched the whole event, wondering what was in it for him.

The bath was a success, although dear little Greta decided to have a little milk puke about 30 minutes later, so the cleanliness was short-lived!

"Dad, I thought you said we were going to get a puppy. What am I supposed to do with her?"

Big Sis Hailey is a happy helper!

Look at my fuzzy hair!

A few more pics of Greta

We have fallen in love with our newest little angel! She is such a good, easy baby! She sleeps about 22 hours per day, and just loves to be held. She is a good eater, and so far, has been nothing but an easy blessing to us. Thanks, Greta! We love you!

The Water Park

While I was in the hospital with baby Greta, the twins headed off to the new Water Park with the rest of the family. This is a great park that just opened near our house, and the kids LOVE it. They wake up every day and ask if we can go there! There is a great playground, and all kinds of animals that have sprinklers built into them.... So suffice it to say that everyone comes home wet!

Hmm... that is a big slide. Am I sure I want to do this?

Hailey is our future rock climber.. she is so good at climbing this wall.

Meeting Big Bro and Big Sis

Last Thursday, we came home from the hospital with new baby Greta. We thought it would be good to document the moment that we introduced Hailey and Andrew to their new little sister. It turned out to be a comical disaster that resulted in all three kids crying at once! I don't really know that they understood that the "baby" in mom's tummy would some day show up for real!

The good news is that since then, the twins have warmed up very nicely to their new lil sis. Hailey is especially nurturing to her, and they both pat her on the head, kiss her, hold her hand, etc. Hopefully they will all be good friends for the rest of their lives!

SHE'S HERE!!!!

We are so delighted to introduce our newest baby to the world: Greta Jane Lang! She is a beautiful little girl with a full head of hair, and plenty of baby fat! Details:

Greta Jane
Born 1:37pm on July 14th
9 pounds, 8 ounces
20.5 inches long

On the morning of the 14th, while we were waiting for Greta to arrive:

Right after she was born:

Moments after her arrival. Check out all of that baby fat! She is a little chunky monkey!

Yes, you are reading the scale correctly - 9 pounds, 8.3 ounces! I have no idea how in the world I ended up with a baby this big! All of that ice cream I ate went straight to her fat rolls!

My first chance to hold her, moments after she arrived...

One big mama

Well, after months of waiting, I am finally in my last week of pregnancy. Wow - I can hardly believe it; it just always seems like the due date is forever in the future. And now it is here!

I had a doctor appt yesterday, and found out that I am 3 centimeters dialated. Sorry for the extra detail, but that basically means that my body is getting fairly ready to go into labor. So, the doc thinks it might be this weekend. Yikes! I had a ton of contractions yesterday, but then they slowed down. So, Baby G's arrival is not far off!

I am nervous to go through childbirth, plus all of the changes in the coming days and weeks. We have had such a lovely summer as a family, and Drew and Hailey have been so delightful. So, I just am wondering how a newborn will change the good rhythm we have going? Probably a lot!
But God is good, and we have so much love for this new little girl, and we haven't even met her yet! All of the work is worth it!

Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support for our family!!

July 4th weekend

We had a great July 4th weekend, which included lots of good activities, and 86 degree temps three days in a row. We got good family time in, which was very special given that Baby #3 is appearing any day now!

Here are the kids in their matching July 4th jammies. They wore these last year, but they were pretty big on them then. Now they are snug!

On July 4th, we were lucky enough to visit our friends the Durrs at their lake home in Tacoma. They cooked us a fabulous brunch, let us hang out at their fun house for several hours, and then took us on a leisurely boat ride around the lake. This was the first time the kids had been on a boat, and they both got the chance to "drive." Thanks, Jeremy and Jodi!

One of the days when it was hot, we ventured to a fabulous new park in Bellevue. It is a "water park," where there are lots of fake animals that shoot water into the air - a perfect activity for kids! Here is Hailey climbing on the orca whale...

On Sunday, we took a nature hike about 2 miles from our house. The kids love to "hike" and they especially love finding sticks and carrying them around. This video is kind of funny because they decided to carry this gigantic stick around together.... great teamwork, twins!
