What happens when Daddy dresses me

Daddy decided to dress me this morning... and well, here is the result. Mom bought me this cute vest yesterday, and I guess Daddy forgot that I probably needed other clothes, too! I did, however, manage to put on my swanky pink glitter shoes, though. I thought they were a nice touch with the shag vest!

Hailey's babbling

Hailey babbles like you wouldn't believe. I thought she "talked" a lot, but even in the last week, the girl has dialed it up. She is constantly constantly saying babble. It is the most adorable thing ever, and I am trying to film her doing this, just so we always remember it. Greg and I wonder what kind of things she is going to say once the babble turns into words!

Here is a video of her enjoying one of her books. Both she and Drew have learned how to "turn the page" when we tell them to, so they love practicing that. They love books! (I purposely haven't filmed her face here, because she usually stops babbling once the camera is in her face...) Turn on your volume and you can hear the chatter. :)

Random pics from our weekend

We had a nice weekend here in Seattle - 80 and sunny yesterday, but rainy this afternoon. We snapped some pics of the kids doing their normal cute things. :)

A personal note from Drew and Hailey

Hey everyone, Drew and Hailey here. We thought it was about darn time that we just wrote our own journal entry. Enough of mom's writing.

Today we had the most enlightening experience: GOING TO COSTCO!! Mom has been telling us how great this place was, but we found out first hand that she is right. If we ever decide to run away from home, that is where we are headin'!

Drew: "Wow, sissy, this place is gigantic (and I don't even know what that word means!) Look, there are 50 televisions all showing the same show! I could live here!"

Hails: "No kidding, and check out this awesome double shopping cart! This is way better than a stroller! And, wow, check out all of those huge lights in the ceiling!"

Drew: "Whoa, can you see all of these people looking at us? I guess I should wave at all of them."
Hails: "How come all of these ladies with white hair keep stopping to look at me? How many times does mom have to tell people that we are fraternal, not identical?"

Hails: "Well, I was having a fantastic time shaking the vitamin container, until someone plopped the world's largest lettuce box on my lap. What is a girl to do?"
Drew: "Okay, sissy, you can have the lettuce. It is for girls anyway. I want to hold the wine bottles... What? Mom? You won't let me? No fair. I am a big boy now!"

We must go back to Costco again! The best part was all of the free sample food we got! Yummy popcorn, whole wheat bread, potato salad, and even nachos! We love COSTCO!

The Zoo, and Grandparents..

My mom was in town last week, and then right after that, my dad and stepmom Katie came into town. So, we have had 2 full fun weeks of family in town. Everyone gave a lot of lovin' to the twins, and it was nice to have extra help. I love how much my parents are willing to dive into work and help us in ways we need it! (Dad even helped me paint my garage) :)

My mom joined us as we went to the zoo one day. Hailey particularly enjoyed it because she is really into pointing these days. She points at everything, which is cute. ..And is constantly babbling about whatever she is pointing to... clearly she is a woman with a lot on her mind! Here she is pointing to the flamingoes... and then later, pointing to the hippos.

Thanks, Nana, Grandpa, and Mimi Kate, for coming to visit us!

Cousin JJ

Andrew and Hailey had their cousin JJ in town this last week from San Francisco. He stayed with us, and all of the kids had a great time. Drew followed JJ around all day long... very curious to know what an "older" boy does all day! (the answer: play with Hulk, Batman, The Thing, and other similar creatures).

We did go to the Zoo one day and had a great time! The rest of the time we were in the pool!

The Woodridge Pool

The highlight of our summer this year has been going to the pool down the street from us. We swim there at least 5 days a week! It is only 150 yards away, and we often pack a lunch/dinner, and stay for hours. We joined last summer, and we can't believe we didn't join it the very first summer we moved here.

The kids LOVE swimming! Hailey is already kicking her legs, ready to swim. And Drew is our splasher. Here is a short video showing Drew hanging out in the baby pool. It has been hot and in the 90s for the last 5 days, so we have put in a lot of time at the pool this week!

Hailey's spirit of fun

Our little Hailey is so adorable. She has such a sense of adventure, and everything is just so fun to her. Yesterday she walked into our room, and saw our fluffy comforter on the floor. In a split second, she decided it would be fun to dive into it and just started running right toward it. It was so cute and she kept on doing it!

So, here is a cute video that shows her adventuresome spirit. We love that about her!

The adventures of Miss Hailey

Our little Hailey is turning out to just be a riot. She is so funny and keeps us laughing. Just this week, here are some of her adventures:

- She stole an apple from dad, promptly walked down the hall, and threw it in the toilet. She thought that was hilarious as it was bobbing in the water.

- She loves to climb inside and under things. See photo below when she climbed into the table in our living room yesterday. After she gets stuck, she just looks at me and whines for me to rescue her!

- Her "security blanket" has turned out to be these little mittens we used to put on her when she was a newborn. She cannot go to sleep without rubbing these into her eyes and holding them on her face. Now she holds onto them and carries them around the house. Oh, and yes, she stole the blue pair that used to belong to her bro, but now they are hers. See pic.

- She is addicted to her new favorite toy - the ball machine. She has learned to push the "on" button, and then watches as these colored balls pop everywhere. Now she puts everything in the hole where the balls go... her binkies, her blocks, food, etc. Check out the pics below, where she stares (with her mouth wide open) into the hole where the balls pop out. She can do this all day!

- Oh, she gave us a delightful "first" the other evening... The first true barfing-in-the-bed experience. (and I mean, true stinky barf, not just milk this time..) I walked down the hall about 10pm to check on them... and smelled an awful odor. Sure enough, I peeped in her crib to see her laying in a pile of you-know-what, with it all stuck to her forehead. Poor girl! She wasn't sick, so I am not sure what happened... she was happy as a clam as I was cleaning her up!
