The Redwood Forest

When we were in California for a long weekend, we spent a few hours enjoying the Redwood State Park that is north of Santa Cruz.  The extra special bonus is that we met our friends Sally and Lydia there, which was a treat.  Greta and Lydia are best buddies, and Sally is one of my dearest friends.   We took a hike through the Redwoods with them, and then also visited the sea lions at the Santa Cruz pier.

On our last morning in California, we also stopped at the Natural Bridges State Park, which had both a cool beach and also a monarch butterfly sanctuary.

California wedding weekend

We spent a very fun four days in Santa Cruz, California with the extended family on Greg’s side.  We flew in from all parts of the USA to watch Greg’s cousin David get married to lovely Sylvia.  It was a very fun weekend especially because the kids got to see their cousins, and Greg’s siblings were all there.   Our family rented a house near the beach, so we enjoyed a few afternoons in the sand with everyone.   Photos below include a rare pic of all four Lang siblings together, plus a fun restaurant called Aptos St. BBQ where we all ate on our last evening together (yum)!

Hooray for twins

Here are a few photos from our "kickoff Sunday" at our church, Bellevue Presbyterian.  Every September, they have a big party and launch for the school year.  So, Greg snapped a few cute pics of the twins that morning.  Wow, they are adorable, aren't they?

First day of school, 2014

We started yet another year of school on September 2nd.  Wow, where does the time go?  I cannot believe that these three are all in the SAME school now, just up the street.  We are grateful for the excellence at Woodridge Elementary!   Andrew and Hailey are in the same first grade class with Ms. Espinosa as their teacher, and Greta has Mrs. Christian for kindergarten.  We are off to a great start!
