Fox Hollow Farm

This week I took the kids to Fox Hollow Farm in Issaquah.... and man, I hit the jackpot!  This place is awesome!  The kids loved everything there!  We were there for almost four hours, and the kids did NOT want to leave!  It was a warm, sunny fall day, with beautiful colors around - a perfect fall festival day!

We started by doing horse rides in the ring.  This is really an equestrian center here, so the barn and horse equipment were all lovely.  The kids all got to ride April, the big white horse.  Then after that, the highlight activity of the day was driving motorized tractors!  They all drove them around for over an hour... even little Greta did it, although she manged to drive into every bush and hedge possible.   (See videos below.)

The farm also has these great "rollercoaster cars" that the kids could do on their own.... another great hit.  We also climbed in the hay loft to do the rope swing, then jumped in the bounce house, then visited the salmon creek, and then had hot dogs by the fire.  We said hello to all kinds of farm animals, too. We topped off the day with cider and free Halloween candy, and the kids were in heaven!  Now we need to find another sunny day to go back!

Recent videos...

Here are a few videos we have taken in recent weeks. The kids keep changing and growing so much!

I love this one because Andrew makes car sounds ALL day, EVERY day. This is the sound that usually wakes us up every morning!

We recently added a few new features to our train set, so the kids love spending time playing on this. Note Andrew's funny facial expression in this one.

Andrew talks about his summer. Note how he completely drops all conversation when a car drives by. This is the sign of his A-D-D-I-C-T-I-O-N to cars.

Precious laughter!

These trikes get ridden every day. All of our neighbors laugh at us when the trike trio rides by....  Santa will be bringing bikes for Christmas...

Riding the Train

Last weekend, we had a lovely day riding the Snoqualmie Train.  My mom was in town, and so we had a fun day showing her around with the kids.  First we stopped at the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, where we watched tons of salmon in the creek swimming upstream.  Then we wait to the Railway station, where we took a 75 minute ride through the lovely Snoqualmie hills.  We ended with a stop at the Snoqualmie Falls!  A great day!  I also found some unpainted trains for the kids' train set which we painted ourselves.  Fun!
