Weekend playtime

We finally got a beautiful spring weekend here in Seattle. So, we were outside on the deck today playing. You can see Drew sportin' his cool shades while he cruises the back deck.

In the other video, you can see how the kids love this great new toy they got from my friend Gwynne. They are obsessed with it, and play with it together for long stretches of time. I think they must like the sensory overload it offers!

Hangin' in my crib

This is a funny video that shows what the kids are like in their cribs these days. First of all, they LOVE to stand in the crib. So, you can see Hailey do that here, and also scoot along the side of the crib closer to her bro.

Then, in classic sibling fashion, Andrew proceeds to steal Hailey's binky for himself after several attempts..... It is comical how one twin always wants whatever the other one has. (just the beginning of this, I'll bet!)

Happy Crawlers

These kids LOVE to crawl now. And they really like jungle gyms (i.e.: mom and dad).

Palm Desert

We just returned from taking our first airplane trip with the kids - we had a fabulous 5-day vacation in Palm Desert with my dad and stepmom (Grandpa Kirby and Mimi Kate). We had 90 degree weather and sun every day, so we loved just sitting by the pool and relaxing. The kids were great fun, and mom and dad even survived the plane rides.

The grandparents got lots of time lovin' on the kiddos, and were kind enough to give us time off to play tennis and sit by the pool. It was a great break and now we are ready for summer!

The cutest kids in the world

I suppose every mom has a moment where she looks at her child and thinks "my kid is the cutest baby in the entire world." Well, I had my moment - shown in the pictures and videos below. We had the kids in the pool at Palm Desert on vacation, and they looked so adorable in their swim suits!! Hailey had a precious red cherry bikini on, with matching hat, and swanky red glasses. (Note: Daddy will not let Hailey dress like this as a teenager) Drew was a riot splashing in the water with his shades and funny hat. They loved the water!!

Look mom.... I can stand!

The twins have reached a new milestone: standing in their cribs! They LOVE it! They learned this and had it mastered all in about 5 minutes. The comical thing is that once they are standing, they have no idea how to get down, so then they cry because they are stuck. So last night, we must have laid them back down at least 10 times before they finally fell asleep. (very fun for mom and dad!)

It is especially endearing to watch them do this, because all they want to do is stand and look at each other. They are quickly moving into the phase where they are best buddies - talking to each other, reaching through crib slats toward each other, and now standing up to look at each other.

Our fabulous nanny, Daniela, took these shots this morning. I cannot believe how old and grown up these kids look - they are turning into toddlers right before my eyes!

Cheerios on my face

My mom is in town visiting, while Greg is out of town for work. Last night, we had the kids eating cheerios in their high chairs. Then we looked up and saw Andrew looking so hilarious, with this one lone cheerio stuck to his lower lip. It was there for a good 10 minutes! We LAUGHED so hard at this.... he just couldn't figure out why we were laughing at him. Then moments later, we looked at Hailey and she had the same fabulous trendy look going. Kids are so funny!
