Museum of Flight, round 2

We have enjoyed a slow week around here, making the most of the Xmas to New Years time, when work is very slow. Yesterday, we headed to the Museum of Flight in Seattle, which has a million different airplanes and related activities. The kids loved it, even Greta, who now always points at airplanes in the sky. We even got to go inside an old Air Force One plane, and a Concorde.

The last time we were here was when Greta was a few weeks old and Greg was on paternity leave. Was much more fun this time around since the kids really understand it more!

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas, all! We had a wonderful week around here, full of good time with the extended family and our kiddos. We loved doing the Santa routine, and the kids were so into it this year! Greg's siblings joined us (Robbie and Jenene, who live in Seattle, and Christy and Adam, who live in Princeton.) We enjoyed a yummy turkey dinner, Xmas morning cinnamon rolls, and delicious quiche by Jenene. Christy made homemade sugar cookies with the kids, using the new cookie cutters she brought, so everyone loved that. We also went to a beautiful Christmas Eve service at our church. Other than that, we have just enjoyed having a full week at home, with nothing to do but play with the kids.

The highlight of the Xmas festivities was watching our kids in the new Bounce House that Santa brought. They love it and it gives them a chance to burn off calories on those rainy Seattle days! Greta loves it the most, and she is all giggles while she is in there.. so cute!

Last year's gift of the Puppet Theatre got a lot of activity...

Super sisters, Jenene and Christy!

Donuts and Snow ice cream

We are up at our place in Whistler this week, having a wonderful time enjoying the snow and winter weather. Greg turned into Chef Extraordinaire today when he taught the kids how to make "snow ice cream." This, of course, is not much more than nice clean snow, with a bit of whipping cream and flavored syrup added. But, it was a hit!!

Grandma Judy joined us yesterday here at Cabinhouse for a few days. One treat: she made donuts with the kids! We love 'em!

Oh, and about that iPad..... it is getting a LOT of use around here!!

Playin' in the snow...

Meet our snowman.
See our snow gear.
Watch us go sledding.

Minnesota Christmas

Wow - I am way behind on my blogging! Sorry, fans! We have been very busy in the Lang household this last month!

The first weekend of December we had my dad and stepmom Katie out to Seattle for early Christmas. This has become a tradition, and it is fun to do a "Minnesota Christmas" at our house a few weeks before the real thing! The kids got plenty of fun gifts, including some new clothes, new play horses (which have been a hit!), musical instruments, lots of great car books, and many sparkling pink girl things! Thanks, Grandpa Kirby and Mimi Kate!

A cool new toy

Well... around here, we have joined the iPad generation. We now own one of these fabulous computers, and I have to say that it is very addicting! The educational value of the applications on here for all three kids is amazing. They are learning their letters and numbers in ways that are really engaging. Here is a short video showing how even Greta can figure out the simple apps... and how she is learning her numbers.

Daddy's music at preschool

This morning Greg was the special guest musician in A&H's preschool class. We had a great time! He played for about 20 minutes and the kids danced and played musical instruments with him. (Oh, and Greta got to join the class briefly, which she LOVED.) Greg really really wanted to do this, and I am so grateful to have a husband who is so involved in our kids' lives! A short video of the Old McDonald song is below..

Three kids in the grass

Today, the kids and I met Greg at Microsoft for lunch. It was an overcast day, but we had fun playing outside after lunch. I luckily had the camera and snapped a ton of pictures. I decided to be a wee bit creative, and so here is a short video of all of the fabulous pics. There are some fabulous shots in here... I love it!

Great pics of the kids

Here are some pics I snapped of the kids today... I love them! There is such expression in their faces, especially on Greta when she is racing around. Oh, I love my kids so much!

Also, the pics at the bottom are from when we visited Elmo at Microsoft today. We had a great time!
