A fun reunion

When I first moved to Seattle, I got involved in a very casual, christian fellowship group here in Seattle. It was so casual, that we just called it "the thing." I made a lot of my fun fabulous friends through that group, and we did a ton of things like camping, skiing, sports, parties, etc. Once I started dating Greg, he got involved in the group, too. Well, that was when we were all in our 20s and single. And as you might guess, now we are all married with kids.

So, this was our "reunion weekend" because this group started 15 years ago (it stopped meeting a few years ago.) But we had a big event last night downtown, where ~150 folks came to hang out. And this morning, we had a potluck brunch at our house with our core friends from the group.... at least 40 people! It was great to see old friends.

Here are pics throughout our house, showing people everywhere. Greg and I love nothing more than having our house full of our friends! Also, there are some pictures of everyone's kids overtaking our big sofa! It is so funny that many of the women in the group were girlfriends with whom I talked about the topic of "when will I get married and have kids?" And now we are clearly outnumbered by toddlers!

28 Weeks and Feeling great!

I had another ultrasound today to check on our little girl... she is doing great!!! She is 28 weeks old today, and based on her measurements, they are estimating she is 2 pounds, 14 ounces!! That is big! She is growing quickly, and is about 5 days ahead of schedule, based on her sizes. They put her at 70%... with 50% being the average... (so she is well above average for height and weight!)

Here are a few pics from the ultrasound - you can see her hands in front of her face, and also her feet crossed in front of her. The other funny thing is that I could see her hair! It is kind of like this wavy fuzz that moves in the fluid... it was funny!

I am also posting a link where you can watch the full several minutes of the ultrasound if you want. I know that sounds long, but the first minute is the most interesting - where you can see the 3D version of her face, hands, and legs. Hope it all comes through clearly and you can understand what you are viewing.

I am so grateful that I am feeling well; this has been an easy pregnancy. We can't wait to meet this little girl in another 12 weeks!

The new nursery!

Well, after 2 weeks of hard work, I have finally finished the nursery for our little girl-to-be! I had a fun time doing it! I first had to clean out my whole storage room to make room for the bed and nightstand that we now are going to be storing in there for 2 years or so.

Three walls are light pink, and one wall is chocolate colored. I got a great crib and dresser on jcpenney.com, of all places. I still am going to find a chocolate colored glider to put in one corner, but I haven't purchased that yet. I also painted a "G" above her crib... and yes, that is her first initial... But you will have to wait until July for the rest of the letters in her name!

At the park...

We had a beautiful morning today, so we decided to head to our Woodridge neighborhood park. The kids have plenty to activities to do there, and they love it. Our little Hailey is a complete daredevil, and she goes down the 'big kids slide' without even batting an eye. I am convinced she is going to be an Olympian someday, probably in an extreme sport that isn't yet invented! Meanwhile, little Drew was watching the dogs in the park play ball.. a favorite activity of his, too. I know he is going to bring home a lost puppy someday and say "Mom, can we keep it?" !!!

Happy Springtime!

A Hug and a Kiss

Even though A&H sometimes pick on each other, most of the time they are best friends. They play together all of the time, and especially love chasing each other and running around the house together. Here are two videos from our time in Whistler this last week - and in both videos, they give each other a hug and a kiss. Very sweet!

Back at Whistler

We have been at Whistler again this week, enjoying another winter week with lots of snow. Greg got in two epic days of skiing with blue skies and fresh snow. The kids love it here, and we are having fun continuing to get to know the parks, walking trails, etc. We had beautiful big snowflakes all day yesterday, so we took the kids "sledding" around our complex.

I am also 25 weeks preggers as of today, and you can see my every-growing belly in the first pic below...

"Hi, Wheel"

I want to document all of the funny stories of things the kids do... so here is one for you...

The other day I was at Home Depot with Hailey, looking at paint samples for the new nursery. There was also a man there looking at the paint chips; he was in a wheelchair. Hailey watched him intently for a while, very curious about the wheelchair. Then when he looked up at her, she waved at him and said "Hi,... Wheel!"

It was so hilarious and so precious at the same time! I love how innocent children can be regarding what they see in the world...
