Andrew, Hailey, and Greta all went to Log Cabin Camp the first week of August. This was a fabulous “pioneer camp” at Kelsey Creek farm that was for 3 hours each day. They learned all kinds of things about life before electricity, cars, and modern conveniences. They spent their time in the Fraser log cabin, which was a true settlement home over 100 years old.
In the pics below, you can see how they learned to do laundry the old fashioned way, make their own butter, grind coffee beans, and even play games like jumping in burlap sacks. The kids had a wonderful week!!
Greta and Drew show off the butter they made by shaking cream in jars…
Hailey churns the coffee beans in the grinder…
The kids gathered eggs from the hens and made corn muffins one day.
“Writing with a feather pen is pretty hard, Mom!”
Maybe this will make them appreciate all of the laundry I do for them?? Um.. probably not!
Greta gets to play with the farm bunnies…
Gunny sack races!!
Making lemonade the hard way!
